Dayton DMAT, OH-5
Welcome to our on-line source of DMAT information. It is designed for Dayton Disaster Medical Assistance Team (DMAT) OH-5 members to keep up to date, but many others will find it of use also. The Dayton DMAT team can be viewed as a mobile emergency room, providing triage and stabilization of patients at a disaster site and providing basic medical services at transfer points during transportation of patients to more defined care.
The Dayton DMAT is operated under the guidance of the Greater Dayton Area Hospital Association (GDAHA) through the National Disaster Medical System (NDMS). The NDMS system is operated by US department of Health and Human Services through its Office of Emergency Preparedness. The Dayton DMAT team, like most level one teams, is ready to deploy as a fully capable medical team with a basic load of supplies that will allow them to be self-sufficient for a period of time.
